Welcome to PAELA

Founded in 2007, PAELA now has more than 175 members throughout the Commonwealth. Our mission to strengthen, train, assist, and support qualified members is key to ensuring the development, advancement, and promotion of quality legal services for older Americans. PAELA members continue to be the premier providers of advocacy, guidance, and legal services which enhance the lives of people as they age and those with special needs. 

Each year, PAELA works to ensure members have the most current information by sponsoring educational programming, including two conferences with a specially-designed curriculum of advanced topics and nationally known speakers. Our conferences are a chance to sit shoulder-to-shoulder, support each other, discuss public policy trends and tough cases, and make connections. For new elder law attorneys, these conferences are your chance to join in the conversation and hone your skills in the areas of Medicaid, Medicare, special-needs trusts, guardianship, estate and trust administration, and more. PAELA is now recognized as an important Public Policy Resource and Advocate for elder law & special needs issues. We have relentlessly worked to develop a reputation as a serious and responsive subject matter expert on topics including Powers of Attorney, Guardianship, Medicaid Managed Care, and POLSTS. PAELA continues to reach out to non-profit agencies and others representing the interests of elders and special needs individuals to join in much-needed advocacy work during these challenging times.
