PENNSYLVANIA ASSOCIATION of ELDER LAW ATTORNEYS (PAELA) ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Join us for the 1st annual PAELA Conference at the Hershey Hotel in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The conference agenda is not yet finalized, but will be a series of moderated discussions on substantive, practice management and public policy topics. There will not be any formal presentations; rather this will be an opportunity to discuss important issues with other practitioners. Topics will include annuities, DRA compliant notes, LTC insurance, VA benefits, special needs trusts, utilization of office staff, and much, much more. In addition, Brian Lindberg, the public policy consultant for NAELA, will lead a lunchtime presentation and discussion on what is happening in Washington, D.C., and how the election and pending legislation will impact our practices.
Note that in order to be eligible to participate in this conference, you must be a member in good standing of NAELA and PAELA as of the conference date. Please make sure your dues are current.
MEETING DETAILS
Date and time: The meeting will be held from 8:30am until 4:30 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at the Hershey Hotel in Hershey, Pennsylvania. A continental breakfast will be served at 8:30am, followed by the first session at 9:00am.
Registration Fee: A non-refundable registration fee of $100 is being charged for this event. The fee includes attendance at the conference and two meals (continental breakfast and lunch) on February 28, 2009. The registration fee is due on or before January 12, 2009. Space is limited, so you are encouraged to register early. Registration fees must be paid by check, made payable to “PAELA”. We cannot accept credit card payments.
Lodging: We have reserved a block of rooms at the hotel. The rate for those attending the conference is $159. (The normal rate is $269.) Space is limited, so please make your reservation early. When you contact the hotel to make your reservation, if the block of rooms is full, please contact Marielle Hazen at mhazen@hazenelderlaw.com as soon as possible so that we can try to add additional rooms to the block. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so. The sooner we know extra rooms are needed, the more likely it is that we will be able to add additional rooms to the block. You are strongly encouraged to make your reservation early to ensure availability. All reservations must be made by January 12, 2009. No exceptions.

Meals: The registration fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday, February 28, 2009.
Optional dinner Friday, February 27, 2009: There will be an optional dinner at the hotel on Friday, February 27, 2009, at 7:00pm. This dinner is not included in the registration fee. Each participant will be responsible for his or her own expenses. You must indicate on the registration form whether or not you plan to attend this dinner. Participants should meet in the hotel lobby at 6:50pm.
CLE credits: No CLE credits will be offered for this program.
